Estes and Estes Engineering is accepting resumes for the following positions:

CAD Draftsman

Position Responsibilities:

  • Use mark-ups provided by the engineer to develop accurate drafting and complete site design layouts from concept to construction documents in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.

  • Ensure all drawings are prepared efficiently and checked for completeness and accuracy before providing them to the Project Manager.

  • Communicate with internal team members, other engineering or architectural disciplines, and Government agencies to obtain information needed for drawings.

  • Attend project planning meetings with project managers when needed.

  • Assist in data collection and/or field verification when needed.

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD or Microstation is required. 

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with site grading, surfaces, road alignments, surfaces and civil plan set development is highly preferred, but not required.

  • Experience working with surveying and/or mapping data is preferred.

  • Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills and the ability to apply them to a wide range of engineering problems is required.

  • Must be a person who is focused on self-development and growth of the skills and knowledge needed to be effective and successful in this position and career field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work in a fast -paced environment where meeting deadlines is essential to success.

Civil Engineering Intern

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of general civil engineering concepts including system hydraulics, surveying and topographic mapping, geotechnical considerations, grading, utility investigations and analyses.

  • Assists team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.  

  • Conduct basic calculations and perform other duties as assigned and under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

  • Assists the civil team in plan submittal review responses, responses to requests for information, and shop drawings.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have an Engineering Intern Certification. 

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design including sanitary sewer, geotechnical, survey, storm water/drainage design, road design, erosion and sediment control, and grading. 

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as relevant discipline software programs, which may include AutoCAD, Civil3D, and/or Microstation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
